Over the past 7 years, we've sold books and ebooks in over fifty countries, with the main market (the United States) accounting for a little more than fifty percent of those sales. No other country achieves more than ten percent. At first we set the same prices in all markets (close to one hundred countries and territories, as supported by our various distributors). However, even though our prices are low, we have decided to reduce the price based on the GDP per capita grouping as based on the world bank. In their scheme there are four categories of income level per country: Low, Medium-Low, Medium-High, and High. For our purposes, we grouped the Low and Medium-Low together.
Low / Medium-Low Income Price Group

In actuality, we've had verified sales from El Salvador, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Viet Nam. The Low Income countries have GDP of around 1,000 USD/year, and the Low-Middle Income have between 1,000-4,000 USD/year. Note of course that PPP can vary quite a bit. Nonetheless, our customers in these countries should see some kind of discount, and we provide it where possible. For example, our standard ebooks are priced at 0.99 USD in these countries (excluding taxes).

Besides the small island nations, we've had sales from a significant majority of this medium-high income price group. These countries earn between 4,000 and 12,000 USD/year in GDP (on average). We price our ebooks here at $1.99 USD (excluding taxes).
High Income Price Group
Over fifty countries make up the High Income price group as opposed to less than forty in the two other groups. These include:

This group earns on average 12,000+ USD/year in GDP. Here we price our ebooks at the suggested minimum of $2.99 USD (excluding taxes). The one exception is Japan which has a lower suggested minimum of 250 JPY, which is between 1-2 USD.
